Who Is Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County?

For nearly 100 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County has given kids the courage to dream. Founded in Fort Worth in 1926, BGCGTC is one of the region's most trusted youth development organizations — providing a safe, welcoming environment where children and teens are respected, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential. Their mission is straightforward: to enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Through after-school, summer, prevention, and intervention programs, BGCGTC equips kids ages 6 to 18 with the academic, lifestyle, and citizenship skills that set them up for success, not just today, but for the rest of their lives.
  • In 2025, BGCGTC provided quality programming to more than 88,000 youth across Tarrant and Denton Counties through Club branches, Mobile Clubhouses, and licensed school sites.
  • BGCGTC’s Blue Door Kitchen delivered 255,681 meals and 83,168 snacks across 19 Club Sites in Tarrant, Dallas, and Hill Counties.
  • Programs span academic success, character and leadership development, health and well-being, workforce readiness, gang intervention, and zero-cost counseling from licensed professionals.
  • 89% of Club youth say they can stand up for what is right. (BGCA youth outcome data)
  • BGCGTC is actively expanding, including the first-ever permanent Boys & Girls Club branch in Denton County, the largest county in the nation without one, set to serve over 6,000 youth per year by 2026.

How the AGT × BGCGTC Partnership Works

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County has been expanding its reach for nearly a century, but the need across Tarrant and Denton Counties keeps growing, too. A Good Turn is helping close that gap in a way anyone can participate in: by turning donated clothing and shoes into unrestricted funds that go directly to BGCGTC. When you donate textiles through this program, A Good Turn handles the collection and converts those items into real dollars that BGCGTC can put to work immediately, no restrictions, no overhead burden, just community generosity funding more kids, more meals, and more opportunities.
  • You donate clothing/shoes (bin or free pickup).

  • AGT routes your donations into local reuse channels.

  • Proceeds directly support Boys and Girls Club of Tarrant County programs in DFW.

Quote From Genesis

"The work that we can do with women and children at Genesis Women’s Shelter saves lives. We do not solicit or accept federal funding, so it is only with the generosity of our community that we can provide help, hope, and healing at no cost. Even though it may just feel like donating old items, the impact you have made in the lives of our clients is invaluable."
